Wright
State University School of Medicine 2002-2003
The Wright State
University School of Medicine is a community-based medical
school that is located in the Dayton, Ohio area. Action Evaluation
(C3)
was used to help the Wright State University School of Medicine
shape its priorities, its identity and its future over the
course of the next five years. Action Evaluation provided an
opportunity
for open dialogue, value sharing and ownership and created
an internal momentum for success within the School of Medicine.
The Dean and Associate Deans, Department Chairs and Faculty
of
the School of Medicine were encouraged to share their visions
and goals for the future of the School of Medicine to enable
it to reach the next level of excellence. The WSU School of
Medicine is now implementing action plans it created over the
course of
the process, using these visions and goals, and will continue
this implementation in the years to come. This process required
a considerable commitment of time, energy and participation
on the part of the medical school. In return, an expected outcome
for the School of Medicine is a more engaged and collaborative
community of teachers, department chairs and administrators
who
have worked together to express shared school-wide goals and
values and who are committed to seeing them realized. |
